The photographs in this project are inspired by the narrative possibilities that still images have the power to suggest. I am interested in both finding and creating scenes that evoke feelings relating to desire, beauty, conflict, and tension. My artistic inspiration stems greatly from 20th century American realist paintings as well as cinema in general. I treat the titles for each piece as if they were the title for an allegory where the image represents just a slice of the narrative. Using a cinemagraphic approach, I leave the storylines ambiguous as to what has just happened or will happen in each scene.
